Breeding Mission Statement

Health
We maintain a closed flock and practice biodiversity as a means of preventing
disease from entering our flock.  We enrolled in the
Vermont Scrapie Program
in 2005 and have had our sheep
OPP tested.  We practice rotational grazing to
help control parasites.  Our sheep are grass fed in the summer and eat second
cut hay in the winter.  We only offer organic grain during the last 6 weeks of
gestation for our ewes.  They are given an organic kelp as a mineral supplement.

Temperament
We breed for calm breeding stock.

Breeding
Malachi, our current ram is from Green Mountain Romneys Farm in Vermont.
His genetics are from Anchorage Farm.  He is a natural colored registered
Romney and has won Grand Champion Ram at a local fair.

Our ewes are from Broadbrook Mountain Farm in Vermont and have been bred
for quality Romney standards set by the American Romney Breeders
Association.

Memberships
We are members of the Vermont Sheep and Goat Association and the
American Romney Breeders Association.

Fleeces
We strive for beautiful  fleeces by covering our sheep from November to April of
each year.  This prevents chaff from collecting in their wool.
Our Farm
Purebred Romney Sheep
White and Natural Colored
We chose to raise Romney sheep because of their calm dispositions, resistance to disease,
and exceptional fleeces.

Other Fiber Animals
We also have llamas and angora rabbits.  Our mother llama acts as a guardian for
our sheep as well as providing us with a unique fiber.  We blend their fiber with
our wool for a wonderfully soft yarn.  Marie and Pippin are our angora bunnies.
They each have their own bunny hutch inside our barn for the winter months.  In
the summer, they are moved outside to larger quarters under a huge lilac tree .
Our bunnies look forward to their morning treats of fresh vegetables and fruit.
Their fiber is plucked and spins into a soft, warm yarn.
Isaiah 40:11  He tends his flock like a shepherd:  He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young.
