meta name="description"content="The Goodling Family and Grand View Farm of Vermont is a diverse fiber farm offering purebred Romney sheep and angora rabbits.">
Health We maintain a closed flock and practice biodiversity as a means of preventing disease from entering our flock. We enrolled in the Vermont Scrapie Program in 2005 and have had our sheep OPP tested. We practice rotational grazing to help control parasites as well as natural herbal treatments. Our sheep are grass fed in the summer and eat second cut hay in the winter. We only offer organic grain during the last 6 weeks of gestation for our ewes. They are given an organic kelp as a mineral supplement. Temperament We breed for calm breeding stock. Breeding We strive for breeding which follows the quality Romney standards set by the American Romney Breeders Association and the Angora Goat Breeders Association. We breed our ewes in November for April lambing and breed our does in December for May kidding. Please contact us if you are interested in purchasing a lamb or kid. Memberships We are members of the Vermont Sheep and Goat Association , Angora Goat Breeders Association, andthe American Romney Breeders Association. Fleeces Our Romneys are bred for long staple length, high luster, and fine handling. We strive for beautiful fleeces by covering our sheep from November to April of each year. This prevents chaff from collecting in their wool. New Shepherds If you are a new shepherd, you may find these resources helpful. Isaiah 40:11 |

| We also have llamas and angora rabbits. Our mother llama acts as a guardian for our sheep as well as providing us with a unique fiber. We blend their fiber with our wool for a wonderfully soft yarn. Our angora bunnies have their own bunny hutch inside our barn for the winter months. In the summer, they are moved outside to larger quarters under a huge lilac tree . Our bunnies look forward to their morning treats of fresh vegetables and fruit. Their fiber is plucked and spins into a soft, warm yarn. |
